Most commonly used the throttle solenoid valve is the mechanical type which the valve is opened by the under pressure of alternator.

The VGT actuator operation can be checked only when operated.

Battery voltage is applied to the throttle sol.valve and the throttle valve is closed after the ignition switch ON.

The VGT acuator duty ratio is 5 % when opening fully(high speed & load) and is 75 % while idling.

For checking the wire and VGT actuator from the fuses to the ECM circuit, the START key should be pressed in the scan tool actuation test mode.

Verify that an audible "click" noise is heard.

IS BOOST PRESSURE DISPLAYED PROPERLY ?

YES

a.

Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor’s and/or ECM’s connector or was repaired and ECM memory was not cleared.

b.

Check for intermittent fault by observing the data parameter for a sudden change while wiggling the wiring and tapping lightly on the suspect component.

Be careful not to damage wires or components during the test.

Repair as necessary and go to " Verification of Vehicle Repair " procedure.
