BASIC INSPECTION

Before performing the inspection of APS, make sure that the follwing items :

① Fuel pressure value in the scan tool is above 3.5 bar in the low pessure fuel line

② Relevant fues

CHECK PROCEDURE

1.Relay test (Normally-open type A)

① Remove the radiator fan relay and there should be the continuity between the terminal 1 and the terminal 2 when power and ground are connected to the termina 3 and the terminal 5.

② There should be no continuity between the terminal 1 and the terminal 2 when power is disconnected.

2. Fuel pump check

① Remove the fuel pump relay and connect the terminal 1 to the terminal 2 with a jump wire.

② Connect the terminal 1 to the terminal 2 with a jump wire.

③ Make sure whether or not the fuel pump is make a noise.

3. Wiring harness check

If the fuel pump does not make a noise, check as follows :

☞ Check for open or short in the wire between the fuel pump relay terminal 2 and fuel pump terminal 1 including the M04 joint connector and the M61 connector.

☞ Check the battery voltage at the fuel pump motor terminal 2 while cranking.

☞ Check the ground condition at the fuel pump motor terminal 2.

☞ If the fuel pump motor does not working after the checking the above items, replace the pump motor.
