Like a ECTS, FTS signals should be smooth and continuous without any sudden changes. When the fuel temperature is cold, FTS output signals increase and when the fuel temperature is hot, FTS output signals decrease. If the FTS current data indicate -40℃(-40℉) or 120℃(248℉) on the scan tool.

IS FTS SIGNAL DISPLAYED PROPERLY ?

YES

a.

Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor’s and/or ECM’s connector or was repaired and ECM memory was not cleared.

b.

Check for intermittent fault by observing the data parameter for a sudden change while wiggling the wiring and tapping lightly on the suspect component.
