Go to "Check Catalytic Converter" procedure.
NO
a.
Test with a new rear HO2S and check for proper operation.If problem is corrected, replace it.
And go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
Check rear HO2S for the following items:
- Ensure that the HO2S is securely installed
- Crack or contamination
- Any damage
Is rear HO2S normal?
YES
Go to "Check Catalytic Converter" procedure.
NO
Test with a new rear HO2S and check for proper operation.If problem is corrected, replace it.
And go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
Check Catalytic Converter for the following items:
- Ensure that the Catalytic Converter is securely installed
- Severe discoloration caused by excessive temperature
- Dents and holes
- Internal rattle caused by a damaged catalyst
Is Catalytic Converter normal?
YES
Catalytic Converter is OK.
Possibility of defective ECM. Temporarily test with a new ECM and check for proper operation.
If problem is corrected, replace ECM and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
NO
Test with a new Catalytic Converter and check for proper operation.If problem is corrected, replace it.
And go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
