The Engine control module (ECM) is installed in the passenger compartment. The ECM is a solid state device that uses internal circuitry to process the input signals according to control algorithms. A voltage regulator inside the ECM controls power supply to output transistor.
The ECM will set a code if an error is detected in the ECM’s voltage regulator malfunction during. two driving cycles.
