Ignition "OFF" & Engine "OFF"
Disconnect ECM connector
WitWith ignition ON and engine off, measure voltage between terminal 40/C23-4 of the ECM and chassis ground
Specification : Approx. B+
Is voltage within specifications?
YES
Go to "Terminal and Connector Inspection" procedure
NO
Go to "Condensor Fan Relay #1 Circuit Inspection" procedure
Ignition "OFF" & Engine "OFF"
Remove condensor fan relay #1
With ignition ON and engine off, measure voltage between terminal 29 of the condensor fan relay #1 and chassis ground
Specification : Approx. B+
Is voltage within specifications?
YES
Check for an open or short to ground between fan relay(31) and ECM(40/C23-4).
If OK, go to "Component Inspection" procedure.
If NG, Repair or replace and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure
NO
Check for open or short to ground circuit between battery and fan relay. Especially check for fusible link(C/Fan)20A. Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure
Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness(s) and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.
Check the following conditions:
Check for damaged harness and terminals: contact resistance, oxidation, bent or broken terminals.
Check for poor connection between ECM and component: backed out terminal, improper mating, broken locks or poor terminal to wire connection
Use a suitable male pin to ensure that contact in sockets is good. The pin should remain in position when pulled gently.
Has a problem been found?
YES
Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
NO
Thoroughly check connectors for loose or poor connections, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure
