CURRENT DATA AND ACTUATION TEST

Most commonly used EGR solenoid valve is the mechanical type which the valve is opened by the under pressure of alternator. And opening value is controlled not to have big engine vibration. EGR solenoid valve operation can be checked only when operated. This current data (graph) is EGR operating state when idling or accelerating For checking the wire from the fuses to the solenoid valve with the ECM circuit, the START key should be pressed in the scan tool actuation test mode. And then make sure that the the solenoid valve "click" noise could be heard.

IS EGR SOL.VALVE CURENT DATA DISPLAYED PROPERLY AND ACTUATION TEST OK ?

YES

a.

Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor’s and/or ECM’s connector or was repaired and ECM memory was not cleared.

b.

Check for intermittent fault by observing the data parameter for a sudden change while wiggling the wiring and tapping lightly on the suspect component.

Be careful not to damage wires or components during the test.

Repair as necessary and go to " Verification of Vehicle Repair " procedure

Go to " W/Harness Inspection " procedure.
