Measure resistance between terminal 2 and 6 of the ICM harness connector
1)
Specification : Approx. 1 Ω
Ignition " OFF"
Disconnect ICM connector
Measure resistance between terminal 2 and 6 of the ICM harness connector
Specification : Approx. 1 Ω
Is the measured resistance within specifications ?
YES
Go to "Check performance of antenna coil" as below
NO
Check for open in harness between ICM and Antenna coil, repair or replace as necessary.
Substitute with a known-good Antenna Coil and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace Antenna Coil. And then, go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
Ignition " OFF"
Put LED tester between terminal 6 and chassis ground.
Ignition "ON" & Engine "OFF"
Check that LED is blinking as soon as Igintion switch is "ON" from "OFF"
Specification :
LED is blinking just one time in normal condition.
LED is blinking three times in case antenna coil is short or faulty.
Check LED operation from Antenna Coil (-) because ICM energizes antenna coil from Antenna coil (+) to Antenna coil (-).
Does the LED blink just one time as soon as ignition switch "ON" from "OFF" ?
YES
Go to "Check ICM" procedure.
NO
Check for short in harness between ICM and Antenna coil, repair or replace as necessary.
Substitute with a known-good Antenna Coil and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace Antenna Coil. And then, go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
Ignition " OFF"
Subsitute with a known-good ICM from another vehicle then, perform limphome function according to (6) Limphome function in Reference Data described in General Information.
Is it possible to start Engine by limphome ?
YES
Replace new virgin ICM and then go to " Verification of Vehicle repair" procedure
NO
Check that no starting is a reault from different system such as battery, starting motor or ECM etc.
Repair or replace as necessary then, go to " Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
