IG Key : ON
Actual value for evaluation
Engine warm up to approx. 80℃(176℉), engine idling
Check items with the scantool
① Fuel pressure current data
② Fuel pressure regulator current data
Specification
Sensor supply voltage : Approx. 5 V
Rail pressure idle set value : 220 ~ 300 bar (below 1.7V)
Maximum rail pressure value : 1500 bar (approx. 4.5V)
☞ CURRENT DATA
During the acceleration, the RPS output voltage increases. During the deceleration, the RPS output voltage decreases. When the rail pressure is too high, the FPR(fuel pressure regulator) closes and a portion of the fuel returns from the rail to the fuel tank via a collector line. When the rail pressure is too low, the FPR(fuel pressure regulator) opens and seal off the high pressure stage from the low pressure stage.
ARE RPS AND FPR SIGNAL DISPLAYED PROPERLY ?
YES
Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor’s and/or ECM’s connector or was repaired and ECM memory was not cleared.
Check for intermittent fault by observing the data parameter for a sudden change while wiggling the wiring and tapping lightly on the suspect component.
Be careful not to damage wires or components during the test.
Repair as necessary and go to " Verification of Vehicle Repair " procedure
NO
Go to " W/Harness Inspection " procedure.
