The pretensioner(BPT) located in the driver and passenger’s lower side of center pillar as above picture, together with an seat belt retractor units. The pretensioner seat belt helps to reduce the severity of injury to the front seat occupant by retracting the seat belt webbing. This prevent the occupant from thrusting forward and hitting the steering wheel(driver) or the instrument panel (passanger)when the vehicle crashes.
When short or decreased resistance in the driver side pretensioner’s(DBPT) squib. When the SRS warning light remain lite up and with DTC code, this means short or decreased resistance between control module and Pretensioner harness.
