General Description

The pretensioner(BPT) located in the driver and passenger’s lower side of center pillar as aboved picture, together with an seat belt retractor units. The pretensioner seat belt helps to reduce the severity of injury to the front seat occupant by retracting the seat belt webbing. This prevent the occupant from thrusting forward and hitting the steering wheel(driver) or the instrument panel (passanger)when the vehicle crashes.

DTC Description

When short or decreased resistance in the short or decreased resistance side pretensioner’s(PBPT) squib. When the SRS warning light remain lite up and with DTC code,this means short circuit or decreased resistance between control module and Pretensioner harness.

● Poor contact in the connector or wiring harness.

● Open circuit in wiring harness.

● Open circuit in pretensioner squib.

● PBPT Resistance <= 1.5 Ohm ( Less than 1.5Ω)

Qualification

● More than 2 sec remaining

De-Qualification

● More than10 sec remaining
