Terminal and Connector Inspection
1.

Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

2.

Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration,or damage.

3.

Has a problem been found?

YES

a.

Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure

NO

a.

Go to " CAN Signal Inspection " procedure.

Ignition ON, Engine : OFF.

5.

TCCU connector : Connect.

6.

Monitor signal waveform between terminal 4 & 5 of TCCU harness connector M79 and chassis ground .

7.

Shift to N Range .

Is CAN Signal display near the specified value?

YES

a.

Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor’s and/or TCCU’s connector or was repaired and TCCU memory was not cleared.Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

NO

a.

Go to " CAN Low wiring ground short Inspection " procedure.

9.

Ignition "OFF".

10.

TCCU connector : Disconnect.

11.

Measure resistance between terminal 4 of TCCU harness connector M79 and chassis ground .

Specification : Approx. ∞ Ω

12.

Is resistance display near the specified value?

YES

a.

Go to " CAN Low wiring open Inspection " procedure.

NO

a.

Check for ground to short circuit of CAN Low comm. Line.

b.

Repair as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

Ignition OFF

14.

TCCU, Steering angle sensor connector : Connect.

15.

Measure resistance between terminal 4 of TCCU harness connector M79 and terminal 9 of ECM harness connector C230-1 .

Specification : Approx. 1Ω below.

16.

Is resistance display near the specified value?

YES

a.

Go to " CAN High wiring ground short Inspection " procedure.

NO

a.

Check for open circuit of CAN Low comm. Line

b.

Repair as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

Ignition "OFF".

18.

TCCU connector : Disconnect.

19.

Measure resistance between terminal 5 of TCCU harness connector M79 and chassis ground .

Is resistance display near the specified value?

YES

a.

Go to " CAN High wiring open Inspection " procedure.

NO

a.

Check for ground to short circuit of CAN High comm. Line.

b.

Repair as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

TCCU, Steering angle sensor connector : Connect.

23.

Measure resistance between terminal 5 of TCCU harness connector M79 and terminal 10 of ECM harness connector C230-1 .

Specification : Approx. 1Ω below.

24.

Is resistance display near the specified value?

YES

a.

Check for normal operation of TPS in the ECM side.

b.

Repair as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

NO

a.

Check for open circuit of CAN High comm. Line

b.

Repair as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
