Terminal and Connector Inspection
1.

Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

2.

Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration,or damage.

3.

Has a problem been found?

YES

a.

Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure

NO

a.

Go to " RRSS Signal Inspection " procedure.

Engine : ON.

5.

TCCU connector : Connect.

6.

Monitor signal waveform between terminal 20 of TCCU harness connector M79 and chassis ground .

7.

Start and drive vehicle in gear and maintain vehicle speed at approx. 10km/h or less(6mph or less)

8.

Is RRSS Signal display near the specified value?

YES

a.

Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor’s and/or TCCU’s connector or was repaired and TCCU memory was not cleared.Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

NO

a.

Go to " RRSS input circuit ground short inspection " procedure.

9.

Ignition "OFF".

10.

TCCU, FLSS connector : Disconnect.

11.

Measure resistance between terminal 20 of TCCU harness connector M79 and chassis ground .

12.

Is resistance display near the specified value?

YES

a.

Go to " RRSS input circuit open inspection " procedure.

NO

a.

Check for ground to short circuit of RRSS circuit.

b.

Repair as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

Ignition OFF

14.

TCCU, FLSS connector : Disconnect.

15.

Measure resistance between terminal 20 of TCCU harness connector M79 and terminal 1 of RRSS harness connector M66 .

Specification : Approx. 1Ω below.

16.

Is resistance display near the specified value?

YES

a.

Go to " RRSS ground open inspection " procedure.

NO

a.

Check for open circuit of RRSS circuit.

b.

Repair as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

TCCU, FLSS connector : Disconnect.

19.

Measure resistance between terminal 9 of TCCU harness connector M79 and terminal 2 of FLSS harness connector M66 .

Is resistance display near the specified value?

YES

a.

Go to "Component inspection" procedure.

NO

a.

RRSS ground circuit open checking.

b.

Repair as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
