Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness(s) and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.
Check the following conditions:
Check for damaged harness and terminals: contact resistance, oxidation, bent or broken terminals.
Check for poor connection between ECM and component: backed out terminal, improper mating, broken locks or poor terminal to wire connection
Use a suitable male pin to ensure that contact in sockets is good. The pin should remain in position when pulled gently.
Has a problem been found?
YES
Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure
NO
System OK.
With ignition switch OFF → ON (After IG KEY OFF, wait for approx. 10 sec and then IG KEY ON)
Specification : Hear operating tone of A/T Controll Relay
Can you hear operating tone of A/T Controll Relay [Relay operate for 0.6 sec ]
YES (Line faulty except for Relay.)
Check for open in harness between terminal 1 of the ATM CONTROL RELAY and JUNCTION BLOCK
Check for open in harness between terminal 2 of the ATM CONTROL RELAY and chassis ground
Check for open in harness between terminal 4 of the ATM CONTROL RELAY and terminal 21/C93-3 of the TCM
Check for open in harness between terminal 3 of the ATM CONTROL RELAY and terminal 10/C109 of the JOINT CONNECTOR
Check for open in harness between terminal 13,14/C109 of the JOINT CONNECTOR and terminal 2,3/93-1 of the TCM
Terminal No | Voltage | Failure parts |
1/C236 | 12V | faulty of fuse (in 0 V) |
2/C236 | 0V | Open in harness |
3/C236 | 12V | faulty of relay |
4/C236 | 12V | faulty of PCM and open the harness(in 0 V) |
2/C224-1 | 12V | faulty of harness or faulty of JOINT CONNECTOR |
3/C224-1 | 12V |
because Relay operate for 0.6 sec ,12V will be not measured according to capacity of tester
NO
