Check CKPS
(1)
Connect CKPS and PCM connector.
(2)
Engine "ON"
(3)
Check the signal waveform of CKPS on scantool.
Specification: Check whether the waveform is synchronized with Camshaft Position Sensor or not.
(4)
Is the signal waveform normal?
YES
▶ Possibility of defective ECM. Temporarily test with a new ECM and check for proper operation.
NO
▶ Substitute with a known - good CKPS and check for proper operation.
▶ If the problem is corrected, replace CKPS and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
