Terminal and Connector Inspection
1.

Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness(es) and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

2.

Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.

3.

Has a problem been found?

YES

a.

Repair the trouble causing part and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair"

NO

a.

Go to "Power circuit Inspection"

Power Supply Circuit Inspection
1. Check power circuit voltage
1.

Ignition "OFF", Turn engine "OFF".

2.

Disconnect main relay (C235)

3.

Measure the voltage of main relay terminal 21 and 21.

1)

Specification : 11.5V~13.0V

4.

Is the measured voltage within the specification?

YES

a.

Go to "Check power supply line(relay→actuator)" as follows.

NO

a.

Repair problems of 30A MAIN FUSE in engineroom junction box and related circuit and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair"

2. Check power supply line(relay→actuator)
5.

Ignition "OFF", Turn engine "OFF".

6.

Disconnect main relay and ECM connector(C230-K)

7.

Connect main relay terminal 21 and 6 using jump wire

8.

Measure the voltage of ECM connector terminal 4 and 5.

1)

Specification : 11.5V~13.0V

9.

Is the measured voltage within the specification?

YES

a.

Go to "Control Circuit Inspection"

NO

a.

Repair open spots and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair"

Control Circuit Inspection
1. Check open in control circuit
1.

Ignition "OFF", Turn engine "OFF".

2.

Disconnect main relay and ECM connector(C230-K)

3.

Check continuity between main relay terminal 22 and ECM connector 13

1)

Specification : Continuity ( below 1.0Ω )

4.

Is the measured resistance within the specification?

YES

a.

Go to "2. Check short to ground in control circuit" as follows.

NO

a.

Repair open spots and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair"

2. Check short to ground in control circuit
5.

Ignition "OFF", Turn engine "OFF".

6.

Disconnect main relay and ECM connector(C230-K)

7.

Check continuity between main relay terminal 22 and chassis ground

1)

Specification : Discontinuity ( Infinite Ω )

8.

Is the measured resistance within the specification?

YES

a.

Go to "3.Check short to battery in control circuit" as follows.

NO

a.

Repair short to ground and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair"

3. Check short to battery in control circuit
9.

Ignition "OFF", Turn engine "OFF".

10.

Disconnect main relay and ECM connector(C230-K)

11.

Ignition "ON"

12.

Measure the voltage of main relay terminal 22

1)

Specification : 0.0V~0.1V

13.

Is abnormal voltage is detected in the circuit with both connectors disconnected?

YES

a.

Repair short to battery and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair"

NO

a.

Go to "Component Inspection"
