Terminal and Connector Inspection
1.

Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

2.

Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.

3.

Has a problem been found?

YES

a.

Repair as necessary and go to "Verification Vehicle Repair" procedure

NO

a.

Go to "Power Circuit Inspection" procedure

Power Supply Circuit Inspection
Check Power To Range Switch ,
1.

Disconnect "TRANSAXLE RANGE SWITCH" connector.

2.

Ignition "ON" & Engine "OFF".

3.

Measure voltage between teminal"8" of the sensor harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : Approx. B+

4.

Is voltage within specifications?

YES

a.

Go to "Signal Circuit Inspection" procedure

NO

a.

Check that No.25-10A Fuse is installed or not blown.

b.

Check for open in harness. Repair as necessary and Go to "Verification Vehicle Repair" procedure

Signal Circuit Inspection
1.

Ignition "OFF" & Engine "OFF".

2.

Disconnect "TRANSAXLE RANGE SWITCH" and "TCM(PCM)" connector.

3.

Measure resistance between each teminal of the sensor harness connector and TCM(PCM)harness connector as below.

Is resistance within specifications?

YES

a.

Go to "Component Inspection" procedure

NO

a.

Check for Open in harness. Repair as necessary and Go to "Verification Vehicle Repair" procedure
