Terminal and Connector Inspection
1.

Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness(es) and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

2.

Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.

3.

Has a problem been found?

YES

a.

Repair the trouble causing part and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair"

NO

a.

Go to "Power circuit Inspection"

Power Supply Circuit Inspection
1. Check power circuit voltage
1.

Ignition "OFF", Turn engine "OFF".

2.

Disconnect Heater Relay 1 connector (C214)

3.

Measure the voltage of terminal 1 of Heater Relay 1.

1)

Specification : 11.5V~13.0V

4.

Is the measured voltage within the specification?

YES

a.

Go to "2. Check Ignition "ON" power circuit"

NO

a.

Repair problems of 60A Heater 1 FUSE in fusiblelink and related circuit and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair"

2. Check Ignition "ON" power circuit
5.

Ignition "OFF", Turn engine "OFF".

6.

Disconnect Heater Relay 1 connector (C214)

7.

IG KEY "ON"

8.

Measure the voltage of terminal 4 of Heater Relay 1.

1)

Specification : 11.5V~13.0V

9.

Is the measured voltage within the specification?

YES

a.

Go to "Control Circuit Inspection"

NO

a.

Repair problems of 20A ECU#1 FUSE in engineroom junction box and related circuit and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair"

Control Circuit Inspection
1. Check monitoring voltage in control circuit
1.

Ignition "OFF", Turn engine "OFF".

2.

Disconnect Heater Relay 1 connector (C214)

3.

IG KEY "ON"

4.

Measure the voltage of terminal 2 of Heater Relay 1

1)

Specification : 3.2V~3.7V

5.

Is the measured voltage within the specification?

YES

a.

Go to "Component Inspection"

NO

a.

When voltage is not detected : Go to "2. Check open in control circuit" as follows.

b.

When high voltage is detected : Repair short to battery and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair"

2. Check open in control circuit
6.

Ignition "OFF", Turn engine "OFF".

7.

Disconnect Heater Relay (C214) and ECM connector (C230-K)

8.

Check continuity between Heater Relay terminal 2 and ECM connector terminal 23

1)

Specification : Continuity ( below 1.0Ω )

9.

Is the measured resistance within the specification?

YES

a.

Repair short to ground and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair"

NO

a.

Repair open spots and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair"
