Terminal and Connector Inspection
1.

Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

2.

Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.

3.

Has a problem been found?

YES

a.

Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure .

NO

a.

Go to " Power Circuit Inspection " procedure.

Power Supply Circuit Inspection
1.

Ignition "OFF"

2.

Disconnect ICM connector

3.

Ignition "ON" & Engine"OFF"

4.

Measure voltage between terminal 10 of the ICM harness connector and chassis ground

1)

Specification : B+

note

Measure ON/START Input voltage because Memory Power doesn’t not effect operation of ICM.

If Memory Power is open, not only scantool does not display correctly but also DTC existing on ICM is disappeared from scantool display.

5.

Is the measured voltage within specifications ?

YES

a.

Go to " Ground Circuit Inspection " procedure.

NO

a.

Check for open in ground harness.

Check that sensor fuse 23 10A is open or blown off.

Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

Ground Circuit inspection
1.

Ignition "OFF"

2.

Disconnect ICM connector

3.

Measure resistance between terminal 1 of the ICM harness connector and chassis ground(G07)

1)

Specification : Approx. below 1Ω

4.

Is the measured resistance within specifications ?

YES

a.

Go to " Component Inspection " procedure.

NO

a.

Check for open in ground harness.

Make sure that chassis ground G07 is firmly tightend.

Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
