Terminal and Connector Inspection
1.

Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness(es) and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

2.

Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.

3.

Has a problem been found?

YES

a.

Repair the trouble causing part and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair"

NO

a.

Go to "Signal Circuit Inspection"

Signal Circuit Inspection
1.

Ignition "OFF", Turn engine "OFF".

2.

Connect oscilloscope to ECM connector(C230-K) terminal 58 with ECM connector being connected.

3.

Check Ignition "ON" signal waveform at Ignition "ON".

1)

Specification : The signals indiate poor connection should not exist at Ignition "ON" range

4.

Does abnormal waveform generate at Ignition "ON" range ? .

YES

a.

Repair Ignition S/W and problems of No.21 10A FUSE in passenger compartment junction box and related circuit, MC20 connector related circuit and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair"

NO

a.

Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair"

※ Repeat this process 2~3 times.
