Terminal and Connector Inspection
1.

Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness(s) and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

2.

Check the following conditions:

(1)

Check for damaged harness and terminals: contact resistance, oxidation, bent or broken terminals.

(2)

Check for poor connection between ECM and component: backed out terminal, improper mating, broken locks or poor terminal to wire connection

caution

Use a suitable male pin to ensure that contact in sockets is good. The pin should remain in position when pulled gently.

3.

Has a problem been found?

YES

a.

Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure

NO

a.

System OK. Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure

Circuit Inspection
Power Line Inspection for ISCA

The voltage check of ISCA,after disconnection of ISCA,is to check open or short in power supply line.

4.

Turn ignition switch to OFF and disconnect ISCA connector.

5.

With ignition switch to ON

6.

Measure voltage of ISCA battery power circuit between ISCA harness connector and chassis ground.

7.

Probe(+) : ISCA harness connector NO2.

Probe(-) : Chassis ground.

a.

Specification: Approximately 12V

8.

Is the voltege within Specification?

YES

a.

Go to "Inspection of open signal circuit"

NO

a.

Short circuit to chassis ground between ISCA harness connector and control relay

b.

Open circuit between ISCA harness connector and control relay

c.

Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair"

caution

1.In case, when ISCA connector is disconnected, the voltage of ISCA terminal 2 is 0V.

▶Possible cause: Open or short circuit in battery power line after fuse (15A INJ).

2.ECM also sets P1505 and P1507 if it detects the open circuit in ISCA power line.

Open Circuit Inspection for Signal Line
9.

Turn ignition switch to OFF and disconnect ISCA harness connector.

Measure voltage of ISCA open signal circuit between PCSV harness connector and chassis ground.

12.

Probe(+) : PCSV harness connector NO3.

probe(-) : Chassis ground.

a.

Specification: Approximately 3.6V

13.

Is each voltage within specification?

YES

a.

Go to "Short Circuit Inspection for ISCA Opening"

NO

a.

Open or Short circuit to chassis ground between ISCA harness connector and ECM harness connector

b.

Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair"

Short Circuit Inspection for ISCA Opening
14.

Turn ignition switch to OFF and disconnect ISCA harness connector and ECM harness connector.

15.

Measure resistance between ISCA harness connector and Chassis ground at ISCA signal circuit.

16.

Probe(+) : ISCA harness connector NO3.
