CKP and CMP input the pulse signal to ECM. Its signal is fed to ECM to be used to determine the engine speed and adjust the fuel injection timing. The revolution speed is defined by revolution per minute of crankshaft. During the acceleration, the engine speed and APS signal increase. during the deceleration, During the deceleration, the engine speed and the APS signal decrease.
ARE ENGINE SPEED AND APS SIGNAL DISPLAYED PROPERLY ?
YES
Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor’s and/or ECM’s connector or was repaired and ECM memory was not cleared.
Check for intermittent fault by observing the data parameter for a sudden change while wiggling the wiring and tapping lightly on the suspect component.
Be careful not to damage wires or components during the test.
Repair as necessary and go to " Verification of Vehicle Repair " procedure
