Check for damaged harness and terminals including rubber seals :
-. contact resistance, oxidation, corrosion, bent or broken terminals
-. harness connector connection, loose wires etc.
Check for poor connection between ECM and component :
-. backed out terminal, improper mating, broken locks and poor terminal to wire connection
ARE THE WIRES O.K ? & ARE THE CONNECTIONS O.K ?
YES
Go to "Signal Circuit Inspection" procedure.
NO
Repair as necessary and go to " Verification of Vehicle Repair " procedure
DTCs listed below are stored in the scan tool
P0267/P0268/P0269
Check items with the scan tool and the multimeter
① Wiring harness inspection
② Check the injector resistance
③ Waveform at the low side circuit and the high side circuit
Specification :
Resitance : below 1 Ω for open in the wire
Resitance : infinite for short to ground in the wire
Voltage : below 0.5V for short to power in the wire
Registance value : 0.3 ~ 0.6 Ω at 20℃(68℉)
Refer to the component and full circuit for connector configrations details
Disconnect the injector and check the continuity the follwing circuit : Between the injector No.3 terminal 2 and the ECM terminal 39/C230-2.
IS THERE A CONTINUITY ?
YES
Intermittent failure, system is O.K at this time.
Check for poor connections or loose wire at the injector and the ECM
Go to step 3
NO
Repair short in the wire between the injector No.3 terminal 2 and the ECM terminal 39/C230-2.
Repair as necessary for wiring harness or connector terminal.
Go to step 3
Connect the scan tool to the data link connector(DLC).
Connect the CH A probe of scan tool to the injector No.3 terminal 2 and start the engine.
Check the signal waveform at the low side while idling.
IS THERE SIGNAL WAVEFORM PROPERLY ?
YES
Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure
NO
Replace the injector. For checking the inejctor , Go to "Component Inspection" procedure
Replace a known - good ECM and recheck. If the signal waveform is checked normally, replace the ECM.
WAVEFORM ANALYSIS
This test should be inspected after depressing the HOLD mode while idling. At first, the waveform obserbation points is height of injector coil induced voltage (booster voltage) (above 70V) In second place, the injector drive time will be checked at the low side. When the engine speed is suddenly raced the injector drive time extended at first, but the drive time will soon match the engine speed. If the waveform pattern becomes distorted during the acceleration or deceleration, replace the injector after checking the resistance.
YES
Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure
Disconnect the injector and check the continuity the follwing circuit : Between the injector No.2,3 terminal 1 and the ECM terminal 37/C230-2.
ARE THERE THE CONTINUITY ?
YES
Intermittent failure, system is O.K at this time.
Check for poor connections or loose wire at the injector and the ECM.
Go to step 3
NO
Repair short in the wire between the injector No.2,3 terminal 1 and the ECM terminal 37/C230-2.
Repair as necessary for wiring harness or connector terminal.
Go to step 3
Connect the scan tool to the data link connector(DLC).
Connect the CH A probe of scan tool to the injector terminal 1 for the injector No.2,3 individually and start the engine.
Check the signal waveform at the high side while idling.
IS THERE SIGNAL WAVEFORM PRORERLY ?
YES
Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
NO
Replace the injector. For checking the inejctor , Go to "Component Inspection" procedure
Replace a known - good ECM and recheck. If the signal waveform is checked normally, replace the ECM.

ARE THERE THE CONTINUITY ?
YES
Intermittent failure, system is O.K at this time.
Check for poor connections or loose wire at the injector and the ECM.
Go to step 3
NO
Repair open or short in the wire between the injector No.2, 3 terminal 1 and the ECM terminal 37/C230-2.
Repair open or short in the wire between the injector No.3 terminal 2 and the ECM terminal 39/C230-2.
Repair as necessary for wiring harness or connector terminal.
Go to step 3
Check the signal waveform at the low and the high side or the current signal waveform while idling.
Standard Value (Measuring range > 25 A, Bandwidth > 100 kH)
① Peak current : 19A (Min) ~ 21A (Max)
② Hold current : 11A (Min) ~ 13A (Max)
③ Recharge current : 7A
WAVEFORM ANALYSIS
① Length of holding current phase (Max.12A) is governed by the engine speed, injection time, and changes on acceleration
② The first current curve shows the pre-injection

NO
Recheck the wiring harness
Replace the injector. For checking the inejctor , Go to "Component Inspection" procedure.
Replace a known - good ECM and recheck. If the signal waveform is checked normally, replace the ECM.
