Terminal and Connector Inspection
1.

Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness(es) and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

2.

Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.

3.

Has a problem been found?

YES

a.

Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure

NO

a.

Go to "SRS indicator light system circuit Inspection" procedure

4.

Ignition "OFF"

5.

Remove the Instrument cluster from crash pad assembly.

6.

Disconnect the connector from the Instrument cluster.

7.

Turn the ignition switch to ON.

8.

Measure the voltage between terminal 8 and body ground.

a.

OK : System voltage (10~14V)

9.

Is the measured voltage within specification?

YES

a.

Check the warning light bulb and replace if necessary.

b.

Check the continuity of SRS wiring harness and repair or replace if necessary.

NO

a.

Check the fuse and replace if necessary.

b.

If a fuse burnt out,there is a shot or some other problem in the circuit. Carefully determin the cause of problem and correct it before replacing the fuse.
