Component Inspection

The resistence check of ECTS component is for finding whether open circuit is in the component.

1.

Measure resistance of ECTS signal circuit between ground circuit.

2.

Probe(+) : ECTS signal circuit NO3

Probe(-) : ECTS ground circuit NO1.

a.

Specification: 20℃(68℉) : 2.27~2.64㏀ ,80℃(176℉) : 0.30~0.33㏀

3.

Does each resistance indicate continuity circuit?

YES

a.

Go to "ECM Inspection"

NO

a.

Open circuit ECTS

b.

Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure

Inspection of ECM

The purpose of checking ECM is to determine whether there is any malfunction of ECM .

4.

ECTS connect and Turn ignition switch to ON.

5.

Probe(+) : ECTS harness connector NO4.

Probe(-) : Chassis ground.

6.

Verify IAT voltage to change while raising or lowering simulation voltage with scan tool within 0.5~3.5 V.

a.

Specification: If the data is changeable as simulation voltage changes, it’s OK.

7.

Is temperature data changing within specification?

YES

a.

Temporarily install a known good ECTS and check for proper operation.

b.

If problem is corrected, replace ECTS.

NO

a.

ECM internal faulty.

b.

Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair"
