Glow plug plays an efficient role at cold start. It also shortens the warm-up period, a fact that is highly relevant for exhaust emissions. The time of preheating is determined by a number of parameters that include the engine speed and the coolant temperature. The ECM controls the glow plug via glow plug relay(A).
