Intermittent failure, system is O.K at this time.

Erase the DTC
Turn the ignition switch OFF and wait 3 seconds.
Turn the ignition switch ON and check the DTC
IS THERE DTC P1636 ?
YES
Go to step 5
NO
Intermittent failure, system is O.K at this time.
Go to step 5
Erase the DTC
Turn the ignition switch OFF and wait 3 seconds.
Turn the ignition switch ON and check the DTC
IS THERE DTC P1636 ?
YES
Replace a known - good ECM if DTC is memorized.
NO
System OK
Internal fault. There is no inspection of service possible for this diagnostic trouble code. Erase the fault memory and perform test drive. If the fault cannot be cancelled, temporarily install a good ECM and If problem is corrected, replace the ECM.
Connect the scan tool to the data link connector(DLC) and check the current data.
Start the engine and let it idle.
Check the engine speed, the mass air flow, the accel position current data.
IS THERE THE CURRENT DATA INDICATED PROPERLY ?
YES
Recheck for the wiring/harness of the ECM relevant circuit for the sensor supply voltage 1.
Go to step 5
NO
Make sure there is no the DTC in the diagnostic trouble codes menu
MONITORING FOR PENDING DTC SET ?
YES
Go to the applicable troubleshooting procedure.
NO
System OK
