Loosen the tailgate hinge mounting bolt, disengage the wiring , and then remove the tailgate.

When removing and installing the tailgate, an assistant is necessary.
Remove the tailgate gas-lift.

Remove the tailgate trim mounting screws(4EA).
Remove the tailgate trim mounting clips(2EA) using a clip remover.
Installation is the reverse of removal.
Remove the tailgate trim. ("See Page BD-11")
Remove the rear wiper.
After loosening the rear wiper motor mounting bolts(2EA), remove the rear wiper motor.
TORQUE : 7 ~ 11 Nm (70 ~ 110 kg·cm, 5 ~ 8 lb·ft)
Installation is the reverse of removal.

Disconnect the actuator and key holder connecting rod, loosen the mounting bolt, and then remove the actuator and key holder. Slightly turn the key holder sideward when removing it.

Disconnect the actuator and key holder connecting rod. ("See Page BD-12")
Disengage the outside handle connecting rod.
After loosening the latch mounting bolt(3EA), remove the latch.

Loosen the tailgate garnish and outside handle mounting nut(6EA), disengage the latch connecting rod, and then remove the tailgate garnish and outside handle.
Loosen the licese plate lamp mounting screws(4EA),and remove the liense plate lamp.
Installation is the reverse of removal.
Align the tailgate and body by moving the striker up or down, or left or right.
Align the cap between the tailgate and the body by moving the tailgate hinge.
Align the height of tailgate and body by turning the over slam bumper left or right.
