The Fuel Pressure Regulator(A) is used to control the rail pressure by regulating the amount of fuel that is sent to the pumping element of the high-pressure pump(B). The Fuel Pressure Regulator is controlled by an electric current. The ECM determines the value of the current which is influenced by engine speed, flow demand, rail pressure demand, measured rail pressure, etc.
