Terminal and Connector Inspection
1.

Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness(es) and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

2.

Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.

3.

Has a problem been found?

YES

a.

Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure

NO

a.

Go to "Charging System Inspection" procedure

Power Supply Circuit Inspection
1.

Disconnect negative(-)terminal cable from the battery than wait more than 30sec for the safety reason.

2.

Disconnect the SRSCM connector.

3.

Connect the battery negative(-) terminal and turnd the ignition switch ON.

4.

Measure the voltage between the terminal 11 of the SRS connector and body ground.

a.

Specification : Approx. 10 ~ 16V

5.

Is the measured voltage within specifications?

YES

a.

Go to "Ground circuit inspection" procedure

a.

Check the haness between the battery and SRSC. Check the battery and charging system.

b.

Repair or replace wire harness or related parts if necessary.

Ground Circuit inspection
1.

Disconnect negative(-)terminal cable from the battery than wait more than 30sec for the safety reason.

2.

Disconnect the SRSCM connector.

3.

Connect the battery negative(-) terminal.

4.

Measure the resistance between the terminal 12 and 23 of the SRS connector and body ground.

a.

Specification : Approx. 1Ω

5.

Is the measured resistance within specifications?

YES

a.

Try to change SRSCM from other vehicle or new part for the test purpose.

b.

If the problem solved go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure

a.

Repair the ground condition.

b.

If the problem solved go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure

Charging System Inspection
1.

Ignition "ON"& Engine "ON", headight and heater ON.

2.

Measure voltage between terminal (+) and (-) of battery while maintaining ENG. RPM in idle to 2,500RPM over the 2 minute.

a.

Specification : Approx.10V ~ 16.5V

3.

Is the measured voltage within specifications?

YES

a.

Go to "Power circuit inspection" procedure.
