Terminal and Connector Inspection
1.

Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals.

Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

2.

Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.

3.

Has a problem been found?

YES

a.

Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

NO

a.

Go to "CKPS circuit inspection" procedure.

Power Supply Circuit Inspection
1.

Key "OFF".

2.

Disconnect CKPS connector.

3.

Key "ON".

4.

Measure the voltage between terminal 3 of CKPS harness connector and chassis ground.

a.

Specification : Approx 12V

5.

Is the measured voltage within specification ?

YES

a.

Go to "Check signal circuit" procedure.

NO

a.

Repair Short to ground or Open in Power circuit, and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

Signal Circuit Inspection
1.

Key "OFF".

2.

Disconnect CKPS connector.

3.

Key "ON".

4.

Measure the voltage between terminal 2 of CKPS harness connector and chassis ground.

a.

Specification : Approx 8 V

5.

Is the measured voltage within specification ?

YES

a.

Go to "Check Ground circuit" procedure.

NO

a.

Repair Short or Open in Signal circuit, and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

Ground Circuit inspection
1.

Key "OFF".

2.

Disconnect CKPS connector.

3.

Measure the resistance between 3 of CKPS harness connector and chassis ground.

Measure the resistance between 1 and 3 of CKPS harness connector.

a.

Specification : "A" - "B" = Below 200mV

4.

Is the measured voltage within specifications ?

YES

a.

Go to "Component inspection" procedure.

NO

a.

Repair Open in ground circuit and then, go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
