Go to "Component Inspection" procedure.
Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals.
Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.
Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.
Has a problem been found?
YES
Repair as necessary and go to "Verification Vehicle Repair" procedure.
NO
Go to "Component Inspection" procedure.
Ignition "OFF".
Connect DDM.
Measure voltage value between terminal "6" of DDM and chassis ground.
Specification : Approx. 12V
Is the measured voltage within specifications?
YES
Go to "Component Inspection " procedure.
NO
Check for open or short in battery power harness. Repair as necessary and go to "Check for open or short in IG2 Power harness" procedure.
Engine "ON".
Connect DDM.
Measure voltage value between terminal "7" of DDM and chassis ground.
Specification : Approx. 12V
Is the measured voltage within specifications?
YES
Go to "Component Inspection " procedure.
NO
Check for open or short in IG2 Power harness. Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
