Component Inspection
1. Check Tilt / Telescope module
1.

Connect scantool to Data Link Connector(DLC).

2.

Ignition "ON" & engine "OFF".

3.

Substitute with a known-good Tilt / Telescope module and Check if the DTC is erased

4.

Is the DTC erased ?

YES

a.

Substitute with a known-good Tilt / Telescope module and check for proper operation.If the problem is corrected, replace Tilt / Telescope module and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

NO

a.

Go to "Check BCM" procedure.

2. Check BCM

Connect scantool to Data Link Connector(DLC).

6.

Ignition "ON" & engine "OFF".

7.

Substitute with a known-good BCM and Check if the DTC is erased

8.

Is the DTC erased ?

YES

a.

Substitute with a known-good BCM and check for proper operation.

If the problem is corrected, replace BCM and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

NO

a.

Check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
