The power steering system increases steering performance and improves steering feel and power-saving effectiveness. The power steering pressure sensor detects the power steering load and converts it into a voltage signal to the PCM. The PCM then controls the idle speed control motor by using the voltage signal from the power steering pressure sensor.
Checking output signals from P/S PS(power steering pressure sensor) under detecting condition, if an signal above 4.95V lasts for over failure limit, PCM sets P0553. MIL(Malfunction Indication Lamp) turns on when the malfunction lasts till cosecutive 2 driving cycle.
