Component Inspection
1. Check BCM
1.

Connect scantool to Data Link Connector(DLC).

2.

Ignition "ON" & engine "OFF" & wiper "AUTO"

3.

Measure waveform between terminal "C3" of BCM and chassis ground.

a.

Specification : Refer the specifications in fig3)

4.

Is the measured waveform within specifications?

YES

a.

Go to "Check Rainsensor" procedure.

NO

a.

Substitute with a known-good BCM and check for proper operation.

If the problem is corrected, replace BCM and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

2. Check Rainsensor
5.

Connect scantool to Data Link Connector(DLC).

6.

Ignition "ON" & engine "OFF" & wiper "AUTO".

7.

Measure waveform between terminal "4" of rainsensor and chassis ground while sprinkling water on front window glass.

a.

Specification : Duty cycle > 66.7% ± 3%

8.

Is the measured waveform within specifications?

※ Duty cycle value will be fixed at 95.2%±3%, if fault 3 is detected.

YES

a.

Check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

NO

a.

Substitute with a known-good rainsensor and check for proper operation.

If the problem is corrected, replace rainsensor and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
