Rain sensing wiper system controls wiper automatically in accordance with detected rainfall without extra signal of driver. It consists of rainsensor, multifunction switch and wiper, and operates when the wiper switch is moved to AUTO position and the Ignition switch is in IGN2 position. Rainsensor consists of two light emission diode(LED), two photo diode, optical fiber and coupling pad. Rainsensor detects rainfall by measuring reflexibility of light from LED to photo diode. When rainsensor detects rainfall, it delivers signal to BCM and BCM operates wiper automatically.
The ECM sets DTC B1907 if the Sensor cannot detect a usable input signal from the wiper control for a minimum of 0.5 seconds.
