Terminal and Connector Inspection
1.

Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals.

Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

2.

Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.

3.

Has a problem been found?

YES

a.

Repair as necessary and go to "Verification Vehicle Repair" procedure .

NO

a.

Go to "Component Inspection" procedure.

Signal Circuit Inspection
1. Check for open or short in harness
1.

Ignition "ON" & engine "OFF".

2.

Measure waveform between terminal "C1" of BCM ECU and chassis ground.

a.

Specification : Signal waveform of LIN Line communication

3.

Is the measured waveform within specifications?

※ The existance of LIN communication waveform itself shows there’s no trouble in LIN communication circuit. If there’s any open or short cicuit in harness, no signal is detected.

YES

a.

Go to "Power circuit Inspection " procedure.

NO

a.

Check for open or short in signal harness. Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

Power Supply Circuit Inspection
1. Check for open or short in power harness
1.

Ignition "OFF".

2.

Measure voltage value between terminal "4" of Multifunction switch and chassis ground.

a.

Specification : Approx. 12V

3.

Is the measured voltage within specifications?

YES

a.

Go to "Component Inspection " procedure.

NO

a.

Check for open or short in power harness. Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
