Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.
Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration,or damage.
Has a problem been found ?
![]() | ▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure. |

IG Key "OFF".
Take off a connector of steering wheel switch.
IG "ON" or ENG "ON".
Measure voltage between power terminal and chassis ground about the steering wheel switch of connector.
Is the measured voltage within specification ?
![]() | ▶ Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor’s and/or LKAS’s connector or was repaired and LKAS memory was not cleared. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. ▶ Substitute with a known-good steering wheel and check for proper operation. If problem is corrected, replace the steering wheel and then confirm proper operation status. ▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure. |

IG Key "OFF".
Disconnect a connector of Multifunction switch and a connector of steering wheel wiring.
IG "ON".
Measure a voltage between power wiring terminal of Multifunction.
Is the measured value within specifications ?
![]() | ▶ Go to the next procedure. |
![]() | ▶ Measure open or short status between the connector of Multifunction switch and the wiring of steering wheel. ▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure. |
IG Key "OFF".
Disconnect a connector of Multifunction switch and a connector of steering wheel wiring.
Measure a resistance between terminal of Multifunction switch connector and chassis.
Is the measured value within specifications ?
