LKAS is an abbreviation of Lane Keeping Assist System. During vehicle operation at 60 km/h, if the vehicle gets out of the existing lane, LKAS helps the driver to maintain the vehicle within the lane through steering wheel control and alarm. LKAS exchanges CAN data with each unit to control the MDPS motor.
If LKAS sends a message to MDPS via a CAN line but a pending signal is received from MDPS due to a temporary fault, LKAS generates the fault code C223986 and does not force signal exchange with MDPS.
