The brake switch is installed on the upper side of the brake pedal checks brake pedal operation. Brake switch and the Brake Lamp switch are included inside of the brake switch.
When hardwire BLS signal and CAN BLS signal are different, EPB ECU sets DTC.
Item | Detecting Condition | Possible Cause |
DTC Strategy |
•
Comparison between hardwire and CAN BLS signal | 1. Faulty BLS signal 2. CAN BLS circuit problem 3. EPB ECU input, ground circuit, or faulty connection |
Enable conditions |
•
EPB awake, normal CAN signal, normal battery voltage range
Threshold value |
•
When hardwire BLS signal and CAN BLS signal are different for 2 Min.
•
During the 3 times both driving more than 40KPH and stop, the BLS does not change.
Fail Safe |
•
EPB release inhibited |
Test Condition | With releasing pedal | With stepping on pedal |
