The Steering angle sensor(SAS) is installed in MDPS assembly in case of vehicle applied MDPS.
The Steering angle sensor(SAS) is installed upper side of the clock spring of steering wheel in case of vehicle not applied MDPS..
The SAS is used to determine turning direction and speed of the steering wheel.
The HECU uses the signals from the SAS when performing ESP-related calculations.
The steering angle sensor in the ESP system is an absolute angle sensor type. For this reason, the steering angle sensor needs the zero setting(Calibration) by the GDS. If the calibration of this sensor is undone, this DTC is set.
Item | Detecting Condition | Possible cause |
DTC Strategy |
•
Signal Monitoring | 1. Calibration not completed 2. Faulty steering angle sensor 3. Faulty HECU |
Enable Conditions |
•
When the calibration of the steering angle sensor has not completed | |
Fail Safe |
•
Inhibit the ESP/DBC control and allow the ABS/EBD control.
•
The ESP/DBC warning lamp is activated. |
