Some markets have an Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) function. When a vehicle is in an emergency stop condition, the brake lamp blinks to inform the vehicle behind of the emergency stop. While this function is operating, ESS brake lamp relay flashes the brake lamp.
The HECU monitors the ESS brake lamp relay (ESS) relay for normal operation. If there is an open or short in the relay circuit, this DTC is set.
