Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.
Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration,or damage.

![]() | ▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure. |
![]() | ▶ Go to "CAN Communication Resistor Inspection" procedure. |
IG key "OFF".
Attach all connectors including EMS-ECU, TPMS, SAS, LKAS and FATC.
Measure the resistance between the terminal #3 and #11 of the data link connector.
Specification : Approx 60 Ω
Does the measured value fall within specification ?
![]() | ▶ Check connectors between ABS, TCS, ESP modules and LKAS for poor contact such as shifted terminal, improper pin assignment, loosened pin terminal or improper pin terminal contact. Repair as needed and perform the “Verification of Vehicle Repair” procedure. ▶ Go to next procedure. |
![]() | ▶ If the measured resistance falls out of the normal range, check and replace EMS-ECU or Cluster including the CAN terminal resistor, and then perform the “Verification of Vehicle Repair” procedure. ▶ If the measured resistance is below 10 Ω, check for and repair the short-circuited spots of CAN High and Low lines, and then perform the “Verification of Vehicle Repair” procedure. ▶ If the measured resistance is ∞Ω , check for and repair the open of CAN High and Low lines, and then perform the “Verification of Vehicle Repair” procedure. ▶ Go to next procedure. |
IG key "OFF".
Remove yaw-rate and lateral G sensor and LKAS ECU connectors.
Measure the resistance between the CAN High terminal connected to the LKAS ECU connector and the CAN High terminal connected to the ABS and ESP connectors.
Measure the resistance between the CAN Low terminal connected to the LKAS ECU connector and the CAN Low terminal connected to the ABS and ESP connectors.
Specification : Approximately ≤ 1 Ω
Is the measured voltage within specification ?
