Terminal and Connector Inspection
1.

Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness(es) and terminal condition. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

2.

Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.

3.

Has a problem been found?

▶ Repair as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Go to "W/Harness Inspection" procedure.

CAN communication circuit inspection
■ CAN communication line inspection
1.

IG KEY OFF.

2.

Disconnect TPMS ECU connector and PCM/ECM connector.

3.

Measure the resistance between CAN-HIGH terminal of TPMS ECU harness connector and CAN-HIGH terminal of PCM/ECM harness connector.

4.

Measure the resistance between CAN-LOW terminal of TPMS ECU harness connector and CAN-LOW terminal of PCM/ECM harness connector.

Specification : below 1Ω

5.

Is the measured registance within specification ?

▶ Check PCM/ECM connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Substitute with a known - good PCM/ECM and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace PCM/ECM and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Check for open/short in harness.

▶ Repair as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
