Has a problem been found?
 | ▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure. |
 | ▶ Go to " Charging System Inspection" procedure. |
Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.
Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration,or damage.
Has a problem been found?
| ▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure. |
| ▶ Go to " Charging System Inspection" procedure. |
Engine "ON"
Turn ON the all electrocity such as Head Lamp, defroster etc.
Measure voltage at battery at 2500 RPM.
Specification : Approx. 10.5 ≤ Vbatt ≤ 16
Is the measured voltage within specifications ?
| ▶ Go to "Power circuit Inspection" procedure. |
| ▶ Check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage from battery to alternator and also check the charging system. ▶ Repair as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure. |
Ignition "OFF"
Disconnect ECU connector
Engine "ON"
Measure voltage between ON/START Power terminal of AFLS ECU harness connector and chassis ground.
Specification : Below 16 [V]
Is the measured voltage within specifications ?
| ▶ Go to "Ground circuit inspection" procedure. |
| ▶ Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration,or damage for power circuit. ▶ Repair as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure. |
Ignition "OFF".
Disconnect AFLS ECU connector.
Measure resistance between ground terminal of AFLS ECU harness connector and chassis ground.
Specification : Below 1Ω
Is the measured resistance within specification ?
| ▶ Substitute with a known - good AFLS ECU and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace AFLS ECU and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure. |
| ▶ Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration,or damage for ground circuit. ▶ Repair as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure. |
