LKAS takes various vehicle conditions, including vehicle speed, yaw rate, and other data from horizontal acceleration sensor, direction indicator lights and steering column, as input via CAN High and Low lines to control MDPS.
While communicating with Steering Angle Sensor (SAS) via CAN, if a valid signal is not received from SAS, the LKAS module generates the fault code C167287 and turns on the Malfunction Indicator Lamp.
Item | Detecting Condition | Possible Cause |
DTC Strategy |
•
Detect a CAN communication signal | 1. Poor contact with a connector 2. Open or short-circuited CAN communication line 3. MDPS |
Enable Conditions |
•
If the vehicle speed is 50 KPH or faster when IG is “ON” or the engine is “ON.”
Threshold Value |
•
If the transmission cycle of the SAS1 message increases to 200%+ for more than 5 times
Diagnostic Time |
•
Immediately |
