LKAS is an abbreviation of Lane Keeping Assist System. During vehicle operation at 60 km/h, if the vehicle gets out of the existing lane, LKAS helps the driver to maintain the vehicle within the lane through steering wheel control and alarm. LKAS exchanges CAN data with each unit to control the MDPS motor.
LKAS checks the checksum of a response message from MDPS to determine whether the message is reliable. If the message is not valid, it generates the fault code C167683 and turns on the Malfunction Indicator Lamp.
