LKAS is an abbreviation of Lane Keeping Assist System. During vehicle operation at 60 km/h, if the vehicle gets out of the existing lane, LKAS helps the driver to maintain the vehicle within the lane through steering wheel control and alarm. LKAS exchanges CAN data with each unit to control the MDPS motor.
If the steering torque value that is sent by MDPS via a CAN line is not valid (target value vs. actual value), LKAS generates the fault code C223386, turning on the Malfunction Indicator Lamp.
