Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals.

Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.

Has a problem been found?

	▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure
	▶ Go to " Power Circuit Inspection " procedure.

IG "ON" and disconnect Oil Level sensor connector.

Measure voltage between Power supply terminal and chassis ground,

Is the measured voltage within specification ?

	▶ Go to "Signal Circuit Inspection" as follows.
	▶ Repair open or short in harnesses and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair".

IG "OFF" and disconnect Oil Level Sensor and ECM connector.

Check resistance between LIN terminal of Oil Level Sensor harness Connector and ECM harness connector.

Is the measured resistance within specification ?

	▶ Go to "Check short to Oil Level Sensor in harness" as follows.
	▶ Repair open in harnesses and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair".

IG "OFF" and disconnect battery sensor and ECM connector.

IG "ON"

Measure the voltage between LIN terminal of Oil Level Sensor harness connector and chassis ground.

Is the measured voltage within specification ?

	▶ Go to "Check short to ground in harness" as follows.
	▶ Repair short to Oil Level Sensor in harnesses and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair".

IG "OFF" and disconnect Oil Level Sensor and ECM connector.

Check resistance between LIN terminal of Oil Level Sensor harness Connector and chassis ground.

Is the measured resistance within specification ?

	▶ Go to "Ground Circuit Inspection" as follows.
	▶ Repair short to ground in harnesses and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair".

IG "OFF" and disconnect Oil Level sensor connector.

Measure resistance between Ground terminal and chassis ground,

Is the measured resistance within specification ?

	▶ Substitute with a known - good Oil Lecel sensor and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace Oil Level sensor and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
	▶ Repair open in harnesses and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair".
