Electrical systems consist of a lot of harness and connectors, poor connection of terminals can cause various problems and damage of component.

2.

Perform checking procedure as follows.

2.1) Check damage of harness and terminals : Check terminals for contact resistance, corrosion and deformation.

2.2) Check connecting condition of ECM and component connector : Check terminal separation, damage of locking device and connecting condition between terminal and wiring.

Disconnect the pin which requires checking at male connector and insert it to the terminal at female connector for checking connecting condition.(After checking, reconnect the pin at correct position.)

Is the problem found?

	▶ Repair the trouble causing part and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
	▶ Go to "Power Circuit Inspection".

IG key OFF.

2.

Disconnect EGR cooler bypass valve connector.

3.

IG key ON.

4.

Check voltage between supply terminal of EGR cooler bypass valve harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : 10.5 ~ 14.5V

5.

Is the measured value within specification?

	▶ Go to "Signal circuit Inspection".
	▶ Repair open between supply terminal of EGR cooler bypass valve harness connector and supply terminal of ECM harness, and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair".

IG key OFF.

2.

Disconnect EGR cooler bypass valve.

3.

IG key ON.

4.

Check voltage between control terminal of EGR cooler bypass valve harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : 3.2 ~ 3.7 V

5.

Is the measured value within specification?

	▶ Go to "Component Inspection".
	▶ Go to "Check open circuit".

IG key OFF.

7.

Disconnect EGR cooler bypass valve and ECM connector.

8.

Check resisstance between control terminal of EGR cooler bypass valve harness connector and ECM connector.

Specification : below 1 Ω

9.

Is the measured value within specification?

	▶ Repair short to ground between control terminal of EGR cooler bypass valve harness connector and ECM connector and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair".
	▶ Repair open between control terminal of EGR cooler bypass valve harness connector and ECM connector and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair".
